Plastic Free Delaware is proud to be the founder of Delaware's YES! Youth Environmental Summit initiated in 2020. Students of all ages, from Kindergarten to high school to college, were staunch, effective advocates in our efforts to secure passage of the plastic bag legislation. Imagine if we could provide them with more information, skills and encouragement to empower them to do even more on environmental issues. The YES! Summit was launched. Open to all Delaware high school students, planning is now underway for the 2025 YES! summit.

Delaware code allows plastic six pack rings if they are “photodegradable, biodegradable or recyclable”. But, these rings are not recyclable. And photodegradable and biodegradable are not defined or certified, AND take YEARS to happen, all the while being dangerous to the health and life of animals, and becoming contributors of microplastics in our food chain! Maine and Canada have already banned plastic six pack rings. Truly recyclable or compostable alternatives already exist & are being used widely. SB263 would ban the use of plastic rings and wraps to hold beverage multipacks together.
